The Mayor of Guildford, Cllr Sallie Barker MBE, and Guildford Philanthropy raised a staggering £74,690 at their Mistletoe Ball last Thursday. With money still coming in, the total now stands at just over £76,000.
The money raised will be shared between seven incredible community projects making a real difference to our communities.
- The Canterbury Care Centre • Guildford Action
- Guildford Town Centre Chaplaincy
- Home-Start Guildford
- Reskilled
- Sensory Service By Sight for Surrey
- The Lighthouse Christmas
- Kindness Guildford project
Any remaining funds will be shared between Guildford Philanthropy and the Mayor of Guildford’s Local Support Fund. The fund provides vital support by granting small sums of money to help those in genuine need.
The Mayor of Guildford, Cllr Sallie Barker MBE, said: “The Mistletoe Ball was a fun festive occasion that truly celebrated the season of giving.
“The support we received from people and businesses across Guildford was phenomenal. The ball was a sell-out with sensational raffle prizes and priceless items for the silent auction being kindly donated.
“I’m extremely grateful to all those who gave generously of their time and money to make the ball a success. Thank you for helping us beat our fundraising goal! The money we’ve raised together will make a huge difference to these good causes and the people they support.”
Chair of Guildford Philanthropy, Peter Cluff said: “It was wonderful to host over 300 people, including Lord and Lady Onslow, at G-Live for our Mistletoe Ball. What an amazing night, raising an amazing £75,000, for seven local charities.”
The Mistletoe Ball celebrated 10 years of giving and launched the next ten years of Guildford Philanthropy supporting local good causes. People can still donate online.
