Welcome to a fresh New Year at Burpham Pages!

Happy New Year, and welcome to the January & February 2026 edition of Burpham Pages! As we turn the page on a brand-new year, this first issue of 2026 is full of local stories, reflections and inspiration to help us look ahead with optimism and community spirit.

We begin with uplifting news from the much-loved Yvonne Arnaud Theatre, whose growing local economic impact has increased by an impressive £250,000 over the past four years — a real boost for Guildford and surrounding areas. Looking to the future of local democracy, Guildford Borough Council moves to the next stage of consultation on the creation of a Guildford Parish Council, while our local councillors George Potter and Jane Tyson share their January & February update on work affecting Burpham.

January is also the perfect time to get moving, and we take a look at Guildford Health Walks — a gentle and sociable way to stay active through the winter months. Nature features strongly too, with Burpham Court Farm’s new nature reserve edging closer to completion, promising biodiversity, flood protection and accessible green space for all.

There’s insight into the local property market from Anthony Brown at Chantries & Pewleys Estate Agents, alongside the latest update from the Burpham Community Association. We also catch up on the festive run supporting Phyllis Tuckwell, explore the benefits of reflexology with Laura Meader, and enjoy Moira MacQuaide’s fascinating history of Burpham Homes.

You’ll also find our ever-popular Burpham Pages Crossword, thoughtful reflections on purpose and hope from Rev James Hanson at Burpham Church, and seasonal Gardening Hints & Tips from the Worplesdon Garden Club.

We hope you enjoy this edition and wish you a wonderful start to 2026. We look forward to welcoming you back in our March & April issue!
