Welcome – November & December 2025
Welcome to the November & December issue of Burpham Pages – our final edition of the year and one filled with community spirit, reflection, and plenty of festive cheer!

We’re delighted to begin with fantastic news: Surrey Coalition of Disabled People has won a prestigious national award at this year’s National Diversity Awards, recognising their dedicated work to improve life for disabled people locally. Also supporting our community, South West Surrey Domestic Abuse Service is encouraging local businesses to become Domestic Abuse Champions — helping ensure anyone facing abuse can find understanding and support right here in our neighbourhood.
Our local councillors share updates on their work in Burpham, while Guildford Borough Council previews Christmas celebrations in the town centre, along with plans for acts of Remembrance in 2025.
The Burpham Community Association continues to champion local issues and community events, and our What’s on this Month pages are full of festive fundraisers, Christmas fairs and firework celebrations to enjoy over the coming weeks.
Local historian Moira MacQuaide reflects on the bravery of those from our community who served their country – a timely reminder of remembrance and gratitude. Rev. James Hanson at Burpham Church invites us to share the wonder and welcome of Christmas this season.
Plus, discover the imaginative world of local artist Sidney Sime and his dedicated gallery, and enjoy seasonal gardening tips from the Worplesdon Garden Club.
We hope you enjoy this edition — and we look forward to seeing you again in January & February as we welcome the start of 2026!
