Burpham Bowling Club

We have our own green and clubhouse in the park, and many friendly faces. Come and find out how you can join in. Discover the fun and challenge of bowling. Afterwards, come over to our clubhouse, take a tour of our excellent facilities, see a bowls demonstration and meet some of our members.

Cubs

Come and meet us! 1st Jacobs Well Cubs (8-10.5 years) meet on Wednesday evenings. If you like learning new skills, having fun and taking part in lots of interesting and challenging activities, come and try us out. Sessions led by Nick, Wendy and Jo.

Guildford City Cricket Youth Project

We offer an affordable approach to junior and competitive adult cricket. Our experienced and qualified coaches provide juniors with high-quality coaching. Join us for a session led by Rohail Khan & Anil Dawar. Try out our game and meet some of our members.

Bridge Club

Join our club members for an hour of duplicate bridge. Observe or swap in to try it yourself as different pairs play the same hands in turn. We’ll explain what we’re doing. Then, if you like it, come to Tuesday evening sessions of our club.

Defibrillator Training

Save a life! Join a group of local people to learn more about responding to heart emergencies and how to use the two defibrillators in Burpham. The session will be of use to anyone who is concerned about responding to a cardiac emergency or just interested to help.

St Luke’s Church

Join us anytime from 10am to 4pm when St Luke’s (overlooking the park) will be open for contemplative prayer – a time to enjoy the quiet and peace of our beautiful church. We will host a short said service of Holy Communion (12:00-12:30) inspired by the Iona and Northumbria Communities of Christians.

Burpham Women’s Institute

We are a thriving local organisation which addresses a wide range of subjects and activities for women of all ages. We still sometimes do the cakes but not jam! We are also interested in social issues, and provide learning & self-development opportunities. Come along to meet us and find out more.

University of the Third Age

Family Chill Session

An hour of downtime for parents and their kids with refreshments and a variety of table activities for the kids to enjoy. They can build, draw, play, quiz, read and choose books to take away. A bit of fun, a bit of learning. This is a session we hope to make a regular event if there is support.

1st Burpham Guides

Guides meet weekly during term time to take part in fun activities and learn life skills whilst earning badges. We also enjoy doing outdoor activities, camping and international opportunities. Join us for an active session. We’ll be outside if the weather is fine. Ideal for girls aged 10-14.

Burpham Wellbeing is a co-operative of providers in Burpham offering wellbeing services and classes in the Burpham Yurt. Come along to try a little yoga and relaxation activity, and find out what’s on the timetable.

BCA Book Club

Inaugural session of a new book club. Read the book then come to chat about it. Our first book is the Booker Prize-winning novel of 2025: ‘Orbital’ by Samantha Harvey, a quick read at just 200 pages and costs under a tenner or £5.99 on Kindle.
