Welcome – May & June 2025

With the days getting longer, the skies a little bluer, and the warmth of summer just around the corner, we’re thrilled to welcome you to the May & June edition of Burpham Pages. It’s the perfect time of year for getting outside, enjoying local events, and connecting with everything our vibrant community has to offer.

In this issue, Burpham Primary School gives us a lovely round-up of their Spring term highlights and shares details for families interested in joining their waiting list for September reception places. Our local councillors George Potter and Jane Tyson check in with updates on their recent activities and the ongoing work they’re doing to support the area.

As always, our much-loved home-grown crossword returns to keep your brain ticking, and we’ve put together a handy list of upcoming local events to add to your diary. We’re also running a short online survey—we’d love to hear your thoughts on the magazine and how we can better serve our community.

The Burpham Community Association shares its bi-monthly update, packed with useful info on local initiatives. Nolan Dark from Seymours in Burpham begins a new series of conversations with fascinating local residents, and Guildford Borough Council reveals plans to transform Burpham Court Farm into a beautiful local nature reserve.

Moira MacQuaide delves into the history of the Pantiles Service Station, and the National Trust invites us to Polesden Lacey’s ‘Dress to Impress’ exhibition. Reverend James Hanson reflects on the idea of ‘Navigating Life’, and the Worplesdon Garden Club is back with seasonal gardening tips for May & June.

We hope you enjoy this edition and look forward to chatting again in the July & August issue.
